The playmaker scored from the penalty spot as Italy beat Greece 2-0 in Rome on Saturday night to secure Euro 2020 qualification with three games to spare.

He endured a hard first season in England, often being dubbed Sarri's favourite.

Under Frank Lampard this term, Jorginho has continued to hold down his place in the team, starting all eight league games.

Born in Brazil, Jorginho moved to Italy as a teenager and worked his way up to Serie A with Hellas Verona and Napoli before a £57million switch to West London.

Chelsea endured a tough start to the season but have started to put a winning run together and now sit in fifth place in the Premier League table.

Jorginho's agent has suggested that the Italian going back to Serie A in the future could be on the cards, according to Radio Sportiva.

"He's doing well in the national team and can play the Euros". He repeatedly converts his penalties, I'm very elated for him, as he is working so tough each day.

He noted: "Naturally, it was not positive when Giampiero Ventura was the Italy coach, but he has slowly become first-choice in midfield".

"It certainly helps that he plays for Chelsea, because it's a very intense style of football in England and he learned a lot both from Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard".

Jorginho may be happy at Chelsea for now, but the Italy international's agent has admitted that the midfielder "will always have the desire" to return to Serie A.

"In football everything is possible, the desire to return [to Italy] is always there", he said.

"I think Jorginho will do very well in the Euros and why not, in the following World Cup as well".

Chelsea, who are on a run of four consecutive victories in all competitions, are next in action after the global break when they play hosts to Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
