The Proteas are 1-0 down in the three-Test series having lost the first Test in Visakhapatnam last week.

The first match saw India dominate South Africa in all departments. Sharma had set two records in the Test match. Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami had led India to victory. India skipper Virat Kohli feels it's time to give Rohit Sharma a break and asked journalists to "stop focussing" on what he's going to do in Tests.

If he scores just six runs in the second Test, Du Plessis will become only the third South African to score 2 000 runs as a Test captain.

South Africa: Quinton de Kock (capt/wk), Rassie van der Dussen (vc), Temba Bavuma, Junior Dala, Bjorn Fortuin, Beuran Hendricks, Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Anrich Nortje, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, George Linde.
