Galarian Ponyta will be exclusive to Pokemon Shield

Over the weekend, The Pokemon Company hosted a rather odd 24-hour livestream.

The Pokémon revealed at the end of last week's confusing trail-cam livestream has been confirmed as the Galarian form of Ponyta. Its category is "unique horn Pokemon", and according to Game Freak, "Galarian Ponyta have been found in a certain forest of the Galar region since ancient times".

The Pokemon Company has provided details for Galarian Ponyta, which will be exclusive to Pokemon Shield. Lots of artwork and screenshots have been released on the official Pokémon website, as well as details on the newly discovered Ponyta variation.

Galarian Ponyta's Ability, Pastel Veil, is a new Ability introduced in these titles.

After the initial reveal, it was pretty quiet on the Ponyta front while we waited for Sonya to put together information about the exciting new addition to the Pokemon world.

"Its special abilities include Run Away and Pastel Veil (prevents poison for all allies, and can cure it when it enters the battlefield), and the Pokemon clocks in at a height of 2'7" and a weight of 52.9 pounds.

Unfortunately, those of you who were hoping for a glimpse at Galarian Rapidash are going be disappointed, because today's info drop only concerns Ponyta. In fact, at this point we're not even sure if Galarian Rapidash is a Pokemon that exists, but hopefully it does and we'll see an appearance by it soon.
