It's going to be a Hideo Kojima game - of that you can be certain.

The ESRB continues to elaborate on their findings, citing that the action game in which players assume the role of courier Sam Porter (The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus) features many notable "intense instances of violence". He said that although he already spent 10 hours playing the game from the start, it still feels like the game is only starting.

We've seen how main character Sam Porter Bridges will be able to use practical objects like a telescoping ladder, as well as stranger items like grenades made from his blood, to traverse the post-apocalyptic United States and fight off the unusual "BT" creatures.

Yoshida wasn't ready to spill tons of story details (imagine that) but he did discuss a few of his narrative impressions: "I'd compare the story to a really well done Netflix original series. Kojima Productions' staff told me this, and even the debuggers at Sony told me this as well", he said. Though there are stretches of time where players passively transport packages across the game's post-apocalyptic setting, it's stated that encounters with "human settlers and ghostly apparitions" can prompt realistic firefights in which enemies emit "large splashes of blood and cries of pain". He also didn't say if the "cry" there had anything to do with the Bridge Baby inside the jar placed in front of Sam's chest.

It appears the man himself wilt be present as Kojima Productions have tweeted "looking forward to connecting with all the fans, together with Hideo Kojima!" and The Game Awards Twitter have also tweeted "Hideo Kojima will be hosting a world tour for the launch of Death Stranding". Stay tuned for more details as they come.

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida said "Death Stranding" will make players cry.
