Apple Starts Selling Xbox Wireless Controller

You need to be running iOS 13, iPadOS 13, tvOS 13, or later to enjoy the Xbox Wireless Controller.

Apple has now started selling Xbox Wireless Controller through its online store.

This is certainly an unexpected move, but not necessarily an outlandish one. Why would Apple bother making its own controller for Arcade when a solid option already exists?

NOTE: Microsoft clearly worked with Microsoft to make this pairing of worlds happen - but it's not JUST Microsoft that Apple works with for this sort of pairing.

The controller is available for $59.95 in the United States, and £54.95 in the United Kingdom.

We should point out that Apple's website is now charging a bit more - $60 - for the controller than other storefronts.

You can find an official wireless gaming controller connectivity how-to guide on Apple (via the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine for posterity) right this minute. Two batteries are provided in the box, but the store page makes no mention of any other charging accessories. The Bluetooth connectivity support in Xbox Controller allows you to play your favorite games on an iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
