But hundreds of presumably adult fans did gather near the Stadion, where Ibrahimovic got his start playing for Malmo FF in 1999 (and where he's rumored to be considering someday finishing his career), for the unveiling of the Galaxy striker's sculpted alter ego.

"For me, the mentality is every day, training the way you train is the way you play a game, and with the MLS system, how do you create that mentality to be on your toes 24 hours?"

Ibrahimovic returned to the city of his first club Malmo this week where he was honoured with a statue.

"I think Inter are doing great things with a manager who is really pushing them on but they are not at the same level as Juventus. I'm not special in any way, even though I'm best at what I do".

He said: "No matter where you come from, where you are, no matter what you look like, the statue is the symbol that anything is possible".

The bronze Zlatan, standing on a plinth and said to measure almost nine feet in height and close to half a ton in weight, was commissioned by Sweden's football authorities to honour their record goalscorer.

His contract is up at the end of the year and Ibrahimovic admits he would be open to a return to Italy or another one of the top European leagues.

Ibrahimovic now plays his football in the MLS with LA Galaxy where he has scored 35 times in 46 appearances.
