Mitchell, 20, told police that Thaddeous Green, 22, arranged the drug deal with Brown, and that when they pulled up to meet Brown, only Green got out of their auto.

One source says that a man suspected in Brown's murder has been identified as as Jacquerious Mitchell has been admitted into and treated at the Parkland Hospital.

All three suspects had traveled from Alexandria, La., to buy drugs from Brown in Dallas apartment complex parking lot, according to authorities. Green allegedly took Brown's gun and backpack and fled.

Police officers later served a search warrant on Brown's apartment, where they confiscated 12 pounds of marijuana, 143 grams of THC cartridges, and $4,000 in cash.

He stated during the press conference, "The rumors shared by community leaders that Mr".

He says an agency other the Dallas Police Department should investigate Brown's death so the findings will be viewed as "authentic and reliable".

"I assure you that is simply not true. We encourage those leaders to be mindful because their words may jeopardize the integrity of the city of Dallas and Dallas Police Department", Moore is quoted as saying by WFAA. Only Mitchell, still in the hospital, is in custody. He's expected to be charged with capital murder.

Lee Merritt, who was an attorney for Jean's family and for Brown's family called his death "suspicious".

Dallas police are seeking Thaddeous Green (left) and Michael Mitchell in connection with the killing of Joshua Brown - who testified in the recent Amber Guyger trial.

An attorney representing Brown's family previously said Brown had reservations about testifying in such a high-profile trial because he had been wounded in a shooting previous year. Dallas police, conveniently, did not address any of that.

There has been rampant-and justified-speculation that the Dallas Police Department retaliated against Brown for his emotional testimony that helped convict Amber Guyger.

Several presidential hopefuls have urged authorities to solve the case.

A statement from the Brown family backs Merrit's request.

One of the suspects, Jacquerious Mitchell, is in police custody. A full police report on that shooting was not immediately available. Nicholas Shaq'uan Diggs, 26, was killed.

The 28-year-old was a key witness in the Guyger trial.

"The court has mechanisms to limit the exposure to witnesses", Merritt wrote in his lengthy Facebook post.

It is unclear how the three men came into contact with Brown or why they would have driven more than 300 miles (483 kilometers) from central Louisiana to purchase marijuana in Texas. So when Brown was shot and killed days after testifying there was immediate suspicion that his death might be connected to the trial.

Brown was the former neighbor of Jean, who was unarmed and fatally shot by Guyer in September 2018.

At the time Jean was killed, Brown lived in the apartment across the hall from Jean.

He heard shooting "right after".
