Additionally, a Starz series titled "The Continental", which takes place before the events of the "John Wick" movies, is in the works as well and will be released after "John Wick 4".

The big news, per Deadline, is that Len Wiseman (Underworld) has signed on to direct the spinoff which is sadly not about Halle Berry's character from the last film.

Well, we've not heard much on Ballerina in the time since, but some folks did notice that this year's John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum featured a number of ballerinas, in a sequence that was clearly laying the groundwork for whatever Lionsgate and company had planned for the project. It has not been revealed whether John Wick star Keanu Reeves will appear in the spinoff, which follows a female assassin.

Rumours of a John Wick cinematic universe first hit back in 2017, not long after the second John Wick film was released. Details are still sparse, but in the latest film, New York City dancer Unity Phelan is in the credits as Ballerina.

The picture is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, with Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski also involved in producing roles. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum has generated more than $323 million worldwide at the box office.

Wiseman is the director of the 2012 "Total Recall" remake and "Live Free or Die Hard" from 2007.

Wiseman, on the other hand, is perhaps best known for his decade-spanning career in the Underworld franchise, though has since notched directing credits on TV shows in the vein of Hawaii 5-0, Lucifer, Sleepy Hollow, The Gifted and the ill-fated Swamp Thing series.
