Leeds United lost to Millwall at the weekend, dropping to fifth in the Championship as a outcome. Bradshaw got on the wrong side of Berardi and the defender brought him down within 15 minutes.

True to form Marcelo Bielsa declined to criticise controversial refereeing decisions that proved costly for Leeds United on their travel to Millwall, but owner Andre Radrizzani has had his say. "There were three important situations in the match: the penalty, the red card and the possible penalty for Jack Harrison. After the first half I took the decision that we had to improve the structure and organisation of the team but I should have taken those decisions maybe halfway through the first half".

"Those three actions you can judge it, watch it on the television".

While this was Berardi's eighth red card in his time at Leeds he could feel unlucky this time as he did not appear to make much contact with home striker Tom Bradshaw and there were other defenders in the area so it was not a clear sending off even if the Swiss player had made contact.

Referee James Linington wasted no time in pointing to the spot and then giving Berardi his marching orders before Wallace wonderfully dispatched the resulting penalty into the top left-hand corner for his third goal in five games against the Yorkshire outfit.

It is going to be hard for the Elland Road faithful during the two-week global break, but the fans have to patience and should remain optimistic about the team bouncing back.

Republic of Ireland worldwide Anthony Pilkington's fortunate strike was enough for Wigan to a secure a nervy 1-0 victory against Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Ezgjan Alioski reduced the deficit in the first minute of the second period, but the hosts held on to record their first league victory since August and a ninth win in their last 11 home games against Leeds.

Millwall: Bialkowski, Romeo, Hutchinson, Cooper, Murray Wallace, Jed Wallace, Leonard (Williams 28), Molumby, Ferguson, Thompson (Bodvarsson 80), Bradshaw. Unused substitutes: Smith, Pearce, Mahoney, O'Brien, Sandford.
