So Tyler Huntley walked gingerly to the corner of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum where Utah's band played on. Granted, BYU is a quality team and the Trojans only lost by an overtime field goal but that is a game that the Trojans have to win if they really want o put together a good run. Starting quarterback Kedon Slovis - who took over after J.T. Daniels suffered a season-ending injury - took a nasty shot and was forced to leave the game.

Fortunately for USC, third-string quarterback Matt Fink picked up the slack when he entered the game and led the Trojans into the end zone on his first drive.

" I do not believe this moment was too huge for me", Fink stated.

After barely playing the past two seasons, Fink almost went to IL as a graduate transfer last spring. "And what a memory it was tonight. When his number was called, he made the most of it tonight". This one was spectacular, as Fink evaded pressure with a sweet move and then threw up a pass to Amon-Ra St.

Devontae Henry-Cole rushed for an early touchdown and Cole Fotheringham caught a TD pass for the Utes (3-1, 0-1), who struggled after star running back Zack Moss left in the first half with an apparent shoulder injury.

USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught 10 passes for 232 yards in a win over Utah. It was the Trojans who looked like the more physical team in the trenches all night, not the Utes.

In the interview room in the tunnel, Blackmon said, "We're over this game already, immediately". "Michael Pittman did a number on us". As replays showed, "Often times, we were in position; couldn't locate the ball, just couldn't find it", Whittingham said. "We've got to rethink some things coachingwise". And with No. 16 OR and Washington already having losses - plus USC's loss to BYU last weekend - Utah was the conference's best hope to make a march to the College Football Playoff.

Slovis had played 2 encouraging games as the starter after changing Daniels, however he could not continue after 335-pound Utah defensive tackle Leki Fotu landed on him. Medical staff came out to attend to him and he walked off the field under his own power.

Fink remained in for USC's second series and threw another TD pass.

Pittman then scored on a dazzling 77-yard catch early in the 3rd quarter, nabbing a long pass away from protectors and fending them off on his run.

Utah's mistakes weren't limited to penalties.

The Utes played undisciplined football with 16 penalties many of which killed drives, not the Trojans. "It's only our fourth game, we know that, we still got a lot of football left to play".

At the end of the first half USC lead 14-10.

Fans around the Fox Sports platform let loose several chants of "Reggie!" The Utes fell to in conference rival USC (3-1, 2-0 Pac-12) 30 to 23.

USC: Another quarterback injury wasn't enough to slow down the Trojans, even against a solid Utah defense that essentially wiped out their running game. Fink made sure that didn't happen, and he's having a phenomenal night passing the ball for USC against a very tough Utah defense. USC is somehow 3-1 after four games of an extremely hard six-game start to the season, with Helton finding yet another way to fend off the doubters for another week.

Utah returns to action when it hosts the Washington State Cougars on Saturday, Sept. 28.
