Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now engaged in a series of open beta tests, giving fans the opportunity to check out 2019's entry into the legendary shooter franchise ahead of its October release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is all set to launch on October 1. From now until September 23rd, the beta is completely open to all players on Xbox One, Playstation 4 or PC.

The game will also support cross-platform play, so if your friend group is not on the same system, now is the time to get everyone together for some gaming.

Players can presently bring on their enemies in Headquarters, Team Deathmatch, Cyber Attack, and Gunfight styles, but the designers of the game have concealed custom matches inside the beta, according to TheGamingRevolution.

Playing Ground War on Rail Yard, the streamer found himself behind enemy lines with nothing but a secondary weapon in-hand, leaving the odds stacked against him - but since when has that stopped the former CS:GO pro? All you need do is achieve Level 10 in your profile, and you'll find the new Hammer Shotgun waiting in your arsenal when Modern Warfare drops next month.

Modern Warfare wouldn't be the first game to use button combinations to unlock stuff in the primary menu, with the iconic Konami Code that gave players 30 extra lives on Contra's NES variant, still a common gambling joke.
