Emmys 2019: Emilia Clarke addresses Game of Thrones finale backlash

The supporting actress in a drama series nominee has been both praised and mocked for her dress choice with some comparing the Gucci's Resort 2020 line number to Jesus. Chopra Jonas shared some photos of Turner's character Sansa Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones, along with a sweet message.

Dressed in a gorgeous navy blue gown, Clarke came to the Emmy's ready to receive a damn award-whether it be for her role in Game of Thrones or for her impeccable style. However, just a few hours before the red carpet event started, her posted a photo of Sophie on his Instagram Story, saying, "I am so proud of you".

The cast of Game of Thrones - or the 10 who were nominated for awards, anyway - took to the stage en masse at this afternoon's Emmy awards ceremony to a standing ovation from the star-studded audience.

The actress, who first Wednesday Joe Jonas, 30, in Las Vegas on May 1 and again in another ceremony on June 29, is without her husband at the award show, as he's performing alongside brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas for the Jonas Brothers Happiness Beings reunion tour Sunday night in Kansas City.

Its losing nominations included best actor for Kit Harington and best actress of Emilia Clarke, while it had multiple entries in the supporting categories.

Game Of Thrones, which wrapped up its story with the final season earlier this year, set a new record by earning 32 nominations for the 2019 Emmys, the most ever for a single season of a show. "She's a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life, but to also find her own source of strength and courage. I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need".

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards are airing live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
