To help keep kids safe, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is joining its traffic safety partners throughout the state for Child Passenger Safety Week, which begins September 15 and concludes September 21 with National Seat Check Saturday. "One of the simplest and most important things on the list should be to make sure they are in the right vehicle seat for their age and size", said Cherie Sage, Safe Kids Kansas.

When I first read the release, I thought why would anyone travel with a child without having a auto seat, but that's not the problem.

The event will be held at the Cook Inlet Housing Authority in Muldoon at 7861 Bentu Circle.

The free checks are part of Child Passenger Safety Week, which runs September 15 through 21, and encourages proper child safety seat installation, as 70% of child safety seats are installed incorrectly. More than 200 children were killed in those collisions. Because research shows auto seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71 percent with infants and 54 percent with toddles in passenger vehicles. "As parents, the choices we make - to use a seat belt, to avoid distracted and impaired driving - have lasting consequences, beyond any single vehicle ride. A booster seat should then be used until a child is at least 4'9" tall. "Children need to be buckled up every trip, every time".

To schedule a seat check-up with a TxDOT Traffic Safety Specialist, visit and enter your ZIP code to find the nearest TxDOT district office. And if children are under 13 years old, they should always sit in the back seat.

In addition, the Baby Safety Seats market is also categorized based on the types of services or product, end user, application segments, region, and others.

There are more than 30 certified technicians in Northeast Ohio that can check to make sure your auto seat is installed correctly.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows almost half (46 percent) of all child passenger safety seats are misused. Throughout Child Passenger Safety Week, CHP Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technicians will provide safety seat inspections, education, and hands-on training for parents and caregivers.

"Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children".
