John Cena Confirmed For Another Huge Movie Role

The 52-year-old director took to his Twitter to share the cast but seemingly hinted there will be quite a few deaths in the movie. Like Gunn says though, don't get too attached: this is the Suicide Squad after all, and the reason there's so many of them is because a good chunk of these stars will be playing corpses by the end of the film. After a swell of public supporting, along with a statement from "Guardians" cast members (including Rooker), Disney reinstated the director to make the third film of the franchise.

Returning from the first film are Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Margot Robbie. You can check out his announcement below. There's David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight) as Polka-Dot Man, Daniel Melchior as Ratcatcher, and Steve Agee (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) as the voice of King Shark.

Now we wait for an official list of who is playing who. And, rumored actors John Cena, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn and Nathan Fillon have all been confirmed. But now it's unclear whom he will play in the movie. Other new additions include Mayling Ng, Juan Diego Botto, Alice Braga, Tinashe Kajese, Julio Ruiz, and Gunn's girlfriend Jennifer Holland. We have no bloody idea, but this cast list is so wild that we wouldn't rule anything out at this point.

The Suicide Squad is due to hit theaters on August 6, 2021. It's been full speed ahead on the DC flick ever since, with casting news flying fast and furious - yet still, nobody can quite agree on whether the flick will be a sequel, a reboot, or some weird combination thereof (a "seboot", if you will).
