Lizzy Caplan portrays budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, the nurse from Misery, who has a prescription for trouble as she arrives in the small town of Castle Rock in the woodlands of Maine.

Misery is coming to Castle Rock!

When her daughter questions her suspicious activity, Wilkes simply replies: "Everything I do, I do to protect you".

"Did you do something, mom?"

It's not a terribly revealing teaser, but it puts into action what we know so far: As with the previous installment, Castle Rock season two is set in an alternate timeline, one in which a young Annie Wilkes and her daughter (played by Eighth Grade's Elsie Fisher) find themselves stuck in the titular town following a auto crash.

Castle Rock, a horror anthology series set in Stephen King's multiverse, is returning this fall.

The anthology's second season will also star Oscar victor Tim Robbins (who's already familiar with the Stephen King universe, having starred in The Shawshank Redemption in 1994), as well as Robin Weigert (Big Little Lies), Sarah Gadon (Alias Grace), Alison Wright (The Americans) and Greg Grunberg (Heroes). Pop, dying from cancer, is at a reckoning with his crime family.

Rounding out the main cast are Yusra Warsama as Dr. Nadia Omar, a medical director in Jerusalem's Lot of Somali descent, and Barkhad Abdi as Nadia's older brother Abdi Omar, who's working to build a Somali community center.

Castle Rock season 2 premieres on Hulu Oct. 23.
