The Nest Hub Max, in essence, is a larger version of the Nest Hub, a device previously known as the Home Hub. You can find it at the Google Store, and it'll be hitting other retailers like Walmart, Best Buy and more, in the coming days. Just a couple months later, Google confirmed that this smart display - the company's biggest one yet - officially launched yesterday.

And, unlike those before it, the $229 Nest Hub Max has a built in camera that can recognize different faces.

The Nest Hub Max is a Google Assistant Smart display that comes in both chalk and charcoal, retails for $229 and is available in the United States starting today via the Google Store, as well as through retailers like Best Buy, Home Depot, and Target.

Camera aside, the Nest Hub Max comes with all the great functionality users have come to expect from Google's connected home series.

Nest Hub Max can be used to keep an eye on your home when you aren't there, and comes with the ability to enable notifications for motion or unfamiliar people. If there's more than one person in the frame, it also adjusts to encompass everyone who's in the video call.

At the annual I/O developer conference, the firm unveiled the $229 Nest Hub Max that combines the features of Nest and Home Hub devices.

Google's latest smart home device has a built in camera for video-chatting and even indoor security.

Like all other smart displays, it can still control your smart home devices, either by your voice or from the screen itself.

The device has the Google Assistant built-in, meaning users can ask their device a manner of questions and command it to perform myriad tasks. So things like asking how the traffic is, you can actually see it on the display, which is pretty cool. The 10-inch smart display obviously looks better and bigger and Google has brought much improvement into how Google Assistant will be able to maximize the display as well as the hardware that this new device brings.

In tandem with the device's launch today, Google prepared a running list of all the use cases the Nest Hub Max makes possible (101 ways to use the device). In the USA, the device will go for US$229 (RM956), in the United Kingdom for £219, and in Australia for AUD$349.
