Box office report: `Mission Mangal` witnesses growth, earns over Rs 135 crore

According to a report in Box Office India: "Mission Mangal did fantastic business on its second Friday with collections going up around 25% due to Janmashtami".

Here's how "Mission Mangal" has fared at the box office so far. With the collection of 135.99 crores, Mission Mangal is now the 3rd highest grosser for Akshay Kumar after 2.0 and Kesari. This astronomic-based film has already earned $1 million in the U.S. in just five days turning out to be a profitable venture for the makers. The film, which released on Independence Day, has till now earned Rs 135.99 crore, trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported. With such a behaviour at the box office, we expect the film to soon enter the Rs 200-crore club. It is co-produced by Akshay Kumar. According to, "Mission Mangal" collected Rs 7.50 crore on its second Friday and registered a massive total of Rs 132.50 crore in nine days. The brand shared an illustration to celebrate the spirit of Indian Space and Research Institutes (ISRO) scientists with a picture of a boy (resembling Akshay Kumar's character from film) with the Amul girl enjoying the iconic bread and butter combination. The film also features Vidya Balan in a prominent role, along with Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi and HG Dattatreya. The movie, which released alongside John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur's Batla House, is set to cross lifetime collections of Kesari.
