Lotto Max is a twice weekly draw with jackpots starting at $10 million.

"I scanned the ticket at Seafair Centre where I purchased the ticket", said Katalinic.

He took the ticket to two other locations and rescanned it just to be absolutely certain he had the winning numbers.

When he got home, he celebrated.

He says there was a lot of hugging and kissing when he broke the news to his family, which is planning a vacation in Hawaii and a visit to a town in Europe where his parents were born.

"The first person I told was my daughter", says Katalinic. Due to this high level of public interest, the National Lottery has advised players to purchase their tickets early to avoid queues and to be in with a chance of winning the truly life-changing prize on offer.

BCLC posted on Twitter at the time asking everyone to check their tickets, writing, "We are so excited to meet the victor!"

"So that's it", he said simply.

That's what happens when you win a staggering $60 million on the Lotto Max.

A life-long Richmond resident and retired fisherman has been revealed as last month's record-breaking $60 million Lotto Max victor.

It says in a release there have previously been three $50-million winners in the province.

The winning numbers for this particular draw are 11, 15, 17, 20, 24, 25 and 50, with a bonus number of 30.
