No word on when Heels will premiere or when production will kick off in earnest, but in the meantime Amell is plenty busy putting together the final 10-episode season of Arrow for The CW.

For nearly eight years, Stephen Amell has been saving the people of Star City on The CW's Arrow. The series was reportedly looking for an eight-episode pickup at Starz, but with Amell now signed on, the cable company has greenlit the project.

Heels is about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. He's one of two brothers, warring over their family-owned wrestling promotion and father's legacy.

Amell will take on the role of Jack Spade, the charismatic heel, or bad guy, of the Duffy Wrestling Association. He has a huge need for perfection and control, and as we'll see in the show, his demanding nature can push him too far, putting his company and family at risk. Spade is determined to make the DWA into an empire no matter what it takes. The show will explore how his dream affects his relationships as a brother, father, and husband. O'Malley worked on a previous Starz show, Survivor's Remorse, which had a four-season run.

For the past seven years, Amell has headlined the CW's drama series Arrow, playing the lead, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. Since then Amell has also wrestled in Ring of Honor and at Rhodes' independent pay-per-view, All In. Along with Waldron and O'Malley, LBI Entertainment's Julie Yorn, Chris Donnelly and Patrick Walmsley will also serve as executive producers.

The "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event has been on the hunt for guest stars lately, scooping up Kevin Conroy, Burt Ward and Cress Williams.

Following the announcement, Stephen Amell tweeted wrestler Cody Rhodes, who Amell wrestled in various matches and appeared in episodes of Arrow, "Wanna come and help me make a tv show?"
