It's cold, it's windy, it's unpredictable, there's an undertow, and just when you least expect it monsters come out of the bottom of the ocean.

20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for the sea-set sci-fi thriller Underwater. Written by Brian Duffield and Adam Cozad, the film follows a crew of underwater researchers who are forced to scramble to safety after an quake devastates their subterranean laboratory, unleashing a risky, inhuman force. Sounds a bit like The Abyss, but without the military men.

Nearly five months out from the release of director William Eubank's aquatic horror film UNDERWATER, a trailer has arrived online to give us a peek at some sea creature action that brings to mind the glory days of films like LEVIATHAN and DEEPSTAR SIX. Kristen Stewart fills the lead role with an impressive ensemble that also includes Vincent Cassel, John Gallagher Jr. The final shots definitely got my attention. This trailer undoubtedly seems to hint at some alien creature or something creepy that has emerged from the depths.
