The CBS series "Instinct" is coming to an end after two seasons.

The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former Central Intelligence Agency operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer.

Series creator Michael Rauch shared the news on Twitter, explaining that following this Sunday's latest double-pump of episodes, the series finale will land on August 25 (seemingly leaving some episodes unaired). Rauch continued, "Endless thanks to @Alancumming & @bojnovak for making Dylan & Lizzie more everything than I could have ever hoped & thanks to our incredible crew, cast, writers, producers & all who helped make our show, with respect, talent & kindness". Airing throughout this summer, as opposed to its first season's spring debut in 2018, the show's sophomore season has averaged a 0.3 live + same day rating among adults 18-49 with 3.39 million viewers.

Because only 11 episodes were filmed for season 2, Sunday will feature two new episodes and the final episode will air next Sunday, Aug. 25. "This sucks balls", she wrote. He gives shout-outs to his co-lead Bojana Novakovic and the series' costume designer Dan Lawson, responsible for Cumming's character's dapper look on the show, and he goes on to list some amusing behind-the-scenes moments.

Michael Rauch, Marc Webb, Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Alan Cumming were the executive producers.
