The stalemate between the Houston Texans and linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is going nowhere fast. So as the team searches for some help, specifically at offensive tackle, there's a good chance Clowney could be traded, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Houston would get its upgrade at left tackle, and Williams would get the fresh start he desires.

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered a torn ACL during his rookie season, and Houston's offensive line continued to be an issue past year. "LTs don't grow on trees", he wrote, "so I have no idea who it would be at this time of year". He has not been in camp and did not participate during the team's first preseason game as a result.

The No. 1 pick in 2014, Clowney has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons.

The 26-year-old has not signed his one-year, $15.9 million franchise tender, instead seeking a new long-term deal. "I know he's working hard".

"I don't know. I really don't", O'Brien said when asked when Clowney might report. He's doing everything he needs to do to be ready to play. When he wants to show up, he'll show up, and he'll be ready to go. "I can't predict that".
