Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Shiite movement in Nigeria, and his wife, have arrived at the Abuja worldwide airport on their way to India.

The Kaduna State Government had last week filed at the Kaduna High Court terms for strict supervision of the leave granted to El Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat, by the State High Court to seek medical treatment in India.

El-Zakzaky and his wife have been in protective custody in Kaduna after the court ruling.

He emphasized that the IMN leader must return immediately after his discharge from the hospital to face his charges.

The leader of the Shiites arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and will leave for New Delhi, India with a chartered flight.

When asked if the IMN leader fulfilled the conditions imposed by the Kaduna State Government, Musa explained that he had no information on it.

He said, however, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) took over the movement of the IMN and wife medical trip.

In a couple of pictures shared by Daily Trust, the leader of the group popularly known as Shiites was seen with his wife as they prepare to depart the country for medical treatment in India.

"Each of the defendants/applicants shall produce two prominent and reliable persons as sureties, one being a first class chief/emir of national repute and the other a prominent person within Kaduna State who shall undertake to produce the defendants whenever they are needed".

It is however, not clear if the IMN leader met the state government's conditions before his departure or not.
