It's here! DJI just launched their brand new smartphone gimbal, the DJI Osmo Mobile 3.

The Osmo Mobile 3's USB-A port is hidden beneath a protective flap. Users can choose one of 13 templates and Mimo will handle the camera movement. After shooting, Mimo automatically generates your very own professionally edited short video, ready to be shared.

As with previous models, the Osmo Mobile 3 (available today) is a smartphone accessory created to help you record smoother, more professional-looking video, while also making it easier to capture specialised shots like timelapses and panoramas.

Gesture Control: This function can snap a selfie without pressing any buttons. Control this 3-axis gimbal with a single hand, or try out Gesture Control. Quick Roll mode moves the docked phone from portrait to landscape orientation without having to remove the smartphone from the cradle. With a folding design, a total weight of just 405g, and a "stand-by" mode that lets you use your smartphone on the folded gimbal, it's that much easier to bring the Osmo Mobile 3 along.

Sport Mode: Similar to the useful feature from the DJI Ronin series, Sport mode increases the response speed of the device to keep up when shooting fast-moving scenes.

HyperLapse: Take the appealing visuals from Timelapse and add movement by manually moving Osmo Mobile 3 with you. Additionally, HyperLapse not only supports real-time Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) but also ActiveTrack 3.0. Timelapse, panorama and slow motion modes are also available via the app.

Slow Motion: Available as 4X or 8X Slow Motion. One of most annoying things with using most conventional smartphone gimbals is that the arm usually obstructs the ports on the right side of the smartphone.

The Osmo Mobile 3 is priced at USD119 (~RM498) for the gimbal, or you can pick up the combo for USD139 (~RM582) that'll include an Osmo Grip tripod and a carrying case.

Between devices like the Osmo Mobile 2 and the Osmo Pocket, DJI doesn't really have any competition when it comes to making portable gimbals. The price starts at €109 for the standard version which includes Osmo Mobile 3, a wrist strap, storage pouch, and anti-slip pads. Additionally, Osmo Mobile 3 is covered under the DJI Care Refresh for an additional €10. This range covers most mobile phones now available.

A new standby mode that's activated by pressing the M button three times allows the gimbal to fold up without being fully turned off, so you can go from the compact travel mode to filming in just a few seconds. Let us know in the comments underneath the article.
