A 22-year-old man from India was upset that his parents bought him a BMW M3 for his birthday instead of a Jaguar, so he pushed the brand new vehicle into a river.

Officials say no charges have been filed against the ungrateful man with claims that he has a mental deficiency and is undergoing treatment.

The lad's father, Sanjeev Kumar, said: "I wanted to give my son a birthday present".

The incident happened when the apparently unhappy birthday boy realized he hadn't got the Jaguar he asked for, according to BBC News. The BMW eventually got stuck on a patch of grass in the middle of the river, causing Akash to jump into the water to go after it.

They told the Times of India that while Akash "had certain mental health issues" he had not driven the vehicle into the canal deliberately and had just swerved to avoid an antelope that was crossing the road.

Akash shared a video on social media of his brand new auto floating away.

Hundreds of local men watched the recovery effort from the riverbank as heavy machinery was brought in to retrieve the auto.
