Although Miracle Treat Day only happens once a year, Dairy Queen's partnership with the Children's Miracle Network is a year-round commitment, and they continue to accept donations throughout the year.

It's the 17th annual Miracle Treat Day.

The four stores in Kamloops are hoping to raise a lot of money for the Children's Miracle Network. More than 10 million sick and injured kids visit a member hospital every year.

Over $470,000 was raised from Miracle Treat Day in Calgary and southern Alberta a year ago. Between June, July and Miracle Treat Day, the Town of Niagara location raised over $8,000.

On Miracle Treat Day alone at the location, Schmelzle and the DQ staff raised over $2,000. The funds raised will help provide access to urgent equipment needs and help critical treatment and health care services, pediatric medical equipment and family-centred care through Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation.
