Brazilian captain Dani Alves has been sensationally linked with a move to Champions League runners up Tottenham Hotspur as the right back seeks his next challenge.

Pep Guardiola is very keen to strengthen his side's defence this summer, particularly to upgrade their right-back and also replace the departed Vincent Kompany.

Alves' main objective is to be involved for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he knows that for this to happen he must be playing regularly for a club and at the top end of the footballing pyramid. And now Alves will consider his options for next season after his contract with French champions PSG expired last month.

After spending two seasons at Paris-Saint-Germain winning Ligue 1 titles, Dani Alves confirmed during the 2019 Copa America that he would not return to Paris.

Not content to wind down his career in America, the Far East or even his native Brazil, Globoesporte insist that 36-year-old Alves has travelled back to Europe to hear offers from clubs.

In order to facilitate a move for Alves, City will have to first sell Danilo, who is now linked with both Juventus and Inter Milan.
