Here's a very unexpected rumor (well, confirmed rumor) to kick your week off with: according to our friends over at Bloody Disgusting, Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock will headline the new Saw. The cast also include Max Minghella (The Handmaid's Tale, The Social Network), who will play Rock's assistant on the case, and Riverdale's Marisol Nichols as a police captain.

The new Saw movie just keeps getting weirder. "This is next level of Saw on full tilt", Joe added to the announcement.

Jackson has joined Chris Rock in Lionsgate's upcoming "Saw" reboot.

Although Jigsaw, the latest movie in the Saw series, was released less than two years ago, the franchise is being rebooted by none other than actor and comedian Chris Rock. Jackson will portray Rock's father.

Longtime "Saw" filmmakers Mark Burg and Oren Koules returned to produce "Saw". The film will be executive produced by Rock, long-time Saw executive producer Daniel Heffner and the original creators of Saw, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell.

The film now does not have a release date, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hit theaters either next October-which is the traditional release window for Saw movies-or if Lionsgate attempts to event-ize this new version, it could arrive with a splashy summer 2020 release date.
