Again on Switch, it will then be possible to download all the additional contents and updates that have characterized the updates of the other versions, including the future and ambitious Journey's End. Since this is open-source, Nintendo will not be able to easily shut it down this time around, though it remains to be seen whether the big N will threat or blame the game's original creator for this new open-source version.

Unsurprisingly, many players - ourselves included - have wondered when the service would expand to include titles from other retro consoles like the SNES, Nintendo 64, or even the GameCube.

Terraria is now available on other platforms like the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, PS Vita, 3DS, and mobile devices. It looks like we are getting closer to an official reveal for Nintendo's revised console. As reported by Japanese Nintendo, president Shuntaro Furukawa has told investors that expanding Switch Online to include more platforms is something the company has been considering.

"At this place we can not tell new information about future classic hardware among others, but we are thinking about providing an extension of the online service which is now providing Famicom [NES] software, as well as other methods of providing them".

It's a pretty cool concept, though it remains to be seen how long it will stay online.
