After the segment was officially opened with the Razer Phone, Taiwanese electronics giant Asus came out with the ROG Phone back in 2018. Hence, the arrival of its successor is overdue.

ASUS has collaborated with "Under the One Man" game from China and has said that its next ROG Phone will offer increased refresh rate.

The Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 are the current refresh rate champions, offering a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance and touch input.

The original ROG Phone offered a 90Hz refresh rate via a full HD OLED screen, but it's unclear whether the new phone will use OLED or LCD technology to deliver 120Hz support.

Asus has recently announced a partnership with the Chinese Tencent Games to develop its upcoming Asus ROG Phone 2.

Following that somewhat vague revelation, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) division inside Asus took to Weibo once again on Tuesday to disclose a more specific (and arguably more exciting) feature of its upcoming super-high-end handset. However, it is being speculating that the Snapdragon 855 chipset will be present under the hood of the ROG Phone 2.

For now, we know that the ROG Phone 2 will release in July but no word on pricing and availability so well have to wait on Asus to drop more clues in the build-up to the release date.
