Starting today, users can now track live train status for Indian Railways trains. Similar to Google Maps, Apple Maps will now allow you to create Collections to easily share favorite restaurants, travel destinations or places to shop with friends.

To see this feature, simply enter your starting location and destination, then tap the transit tab.

Google Maps will also help users know when their train is going to arrive by indicating the real-time live running status. As per Google's official blog post, this feature was developed in collaboration with the "Where is my Train" app that was acquired by the search giant past year. At the time of acquisition, the platform had more than 10 million registered users in India. While the third feature, available only in Delhi and Bengaluru, will combine public transport transit time, with how best to cover small distances while changing transport means.

Announcing the new India-first features, Taylah Hasaballah, Product Manager, Google Maps said; "Google Maps is being used by over a billion travellers to navigate and explore their world, wherever they are". The option is ideal in cities with metros, with Google now highlighting stations that you can take an auto-rickshaw from. They can also see the rickshaw meter estimate, and departure times for their transit connection. It is now available for hundreds of cities across dozens of countries, with new partners joining all the time.

First, Apple is bringing the popular Streetview feature to Apple Maps and it is calling it Look Around.

Google Maps will soon show the delay one might face during their bus journey by taking into account the live traffic status of the route. The feature is being rolled out in ten of India's largest cities: Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Chennai, Mysore, Coimbatore, and Surat. "Google continues to work with public transport services in other cities to enable real-time transit information for their services and will announce these, as and when they become available", it added.
