The St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins meet Wednesday in game two of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals at the TD Garden.

The St Louis Blues came into the finals having won their last three games in a row and they were facing a Boston team that had five extra days rest than they did. His quick thinking on pulling the plug on that experiment helped the Bruins come back to win 4-2 Monday night with fourth-line forward Sean Kuraly and third-pairing defenseman Connor Clifton the unlikely heroes. Brad Marchand was able to secure the win with an empty netter to give Boston a 1-0 series lead.

Chara, who missed Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against Carolina and two subsequent practices played 19:38, which was slighly lower than his 2018-19 postseason average of 22:31 but still among the ice time on the roster.

"Stuff's going to happen, you got to handle it, ′ Binnington said".

The Bruins ultimately shook off the rust and started to play their game, and that's when the tide turned. "We'll regroup and prepare for the next game". "And I think after the second goal, that kind of woke us up".

If Berube prefers power against power, which contributed to goals by Schenn and Tarasenko, he also might need to make some changes to tackle Boston's ability to get goals from its entire lineup.

"We didn't manage the puck very well", Blues coach Craig Berube said.

And play better they did.

Notes: Zdeno Chara had a cut on his left arm where he was hit by Tarasenko's shot. Lil Nas X and Chase Rice, who performed a concert in City Hall Plaza before the game, were in attendance. They both got big cheers when shown on the video board, and the crowd erupted when Rice chugged a beer. Now the Blues have to beat a superior opponent four times in six games, which is a pretty tough task considering three more games (if necessary) are in Boston.

Stanley Cup fever has taken over Boston. They had been 10-3 when scoring first, and 6-1 when leading after the first period.
