In a now-viral and expletive ridden segment on John Oliver's Last Week Tonight, the host of the popular children's science show Bill Nye the Science Guy urged leaders to act now.

"By the end of this century, if emissions keep rising, the average temperature on Earth could go up another four to eight degrees". "We're going to need a lot of different policies working in tandem, and we have to take action right now!" "No, of course not, nothing's free you idiots, grow the f-k up".

During the segment, Oliver blasted conservative politicians for blocking the Green New Deal, saying its real goal was to start more conversations around climate change. The whole Green New Deal is just 14 pages long.

And by "discussed, ' what we really mean is: He considered riding a sled pulled by 400 hamsters, made Trump jokes, and explained why carbon taxing may be an important tool in the climate fight".

Celebrity scientist Bill Nye is best known for his wacky experiments and easy-to-understand language when talking about science - mostly catered towards children on his show, Bill Nye the Science Guy.

What do you think of John Oliver's points and Bill Nye's sketch? "Safety glasses off, motherf-ers". You may see the full segment as it played out with John Oliver and Bill Nye in the video player below. Nye stated, "Here, I've got an experiment for you".

Nye, continuing his tirade, added to the late night host's sentiments, saying, "Putting a fee on carbon creates incentives to emit less carbon, and, more importantly, it also incentivizes the development of low-carbon technology, which is huge, because that's vital to reducing emissions globally".

Nye yelled, "Grow the f*** up!"

Cut to Nye - equipped with, among other items, a globe and a blowtorch.

"I didn't mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12. As a man who has studied the science of meteorology for over 60 years and received the AMS (American Meteorological Society's) "Meteorologist of the Year" award, I am totally offended that Nye gets the press and media attention he does".
