Then there's Jessica Chastain and Ava DuVernay, both of who recently attacked the show for its treatment of women, of rape, and of diversity.

"Rape is not a tool to make a character stronger", Chastain wrote on Twitter on Monday, in addition to sharing a GIF of Turner, 23, on the Iron Throne.

Still, there was one exchange that enraged the acclaimed actress, as well as others.

In this week's episode Sandor told Sansa that maybe her life would not have so tragic if he had taken her with him, as he had hoped in the previous seasons of the show.

"You've changed, Little Bird", he noted.

To this, Sansa replies: "Without Littlefinger and Ramsay and the rest, I would've stayed a little bird all my life". "A woman doesn't need to be victimized in order to become a butterfly", Chastain tweeted.

The #LittleBird was always a Phoenix, ' she continued, in what may have been an homage to the film she stars in with Sophie Turner, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, where Turner plays the Dark Phoenix.

'Her prevailing strength is exclusively because of her. The show has also only had three female writers - Jane Espenson, Vanessa Taylor and Gursimran Sandhu - who have contributed to nine episodes total.

Baelish, through the seasons, manipulated Sansa as per his needs while posing as her protector and mentor.

Meanwhile, DuVernay was dismayed that in the same episode, the only woman of color, Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) had been killed off in the third to last "GoT" episode's closing minutes.

Another sore point from the episode was the way in which Missandei died - in chains, and simply to bait her best friend, Daenerys.

"So. the one and only sister on the whole epic, years-long series?" That's what you wanna do?

Slow news day? Total click-bait.

The latest episode of Game of Thrones, "The Last of the Starks", featured a reunion between Sansa Stark and The Hound during the drink-fest that was the Winterfell banquet.

Game of Thrones airs its penultimate episode on HBO at 9 p.m. ET on May 12.
