The Los Angeles Lakers' search for a new head coach made its way to Jason Kidd, with ESPN reporting the former star National Basketball Association point guard and coaching flameout met with team general manager Rob Pelinka on Monday.

When it comes to Kidd, there have been conflicting reports about him and the Lakers.

Kidd's interview was with general manager Rob Pelinka and team executive Kurt Rambis and was conducted at the team's practice facility in El Segundo, California.

Lue, 41, coached the Cavs for parts of four seasons and led the club to three straight NBA Finals and a title win in 2016. He was sacked midway through the 2017-18 season, his fourth in Milwaukee.

The team and former head coach Luke Walton, who has since been hired by the Sacramento Kings, parted ways on April 12. Sixers assistant Monty Williams and ex-Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue have already interviewed for the position, and Los Angeles is expected to meet with Heat assistant Juwan Howard this week.

He was sacked six games into the 2018-19 season.
