Eric Chahi's adventure game was rereleased on PS4 a while back, but for the last few years, he and his team at Pixel Reef have been hard at work on something totally new.

The upcoming VR game looks a sight different from "Another World", and is being developed by Chahi's new studio, Pixel Reef.

"We will tell you a story, but the narration is unspoken", Chahi notes on PlayStation Blog.

So how did we incorporate this into Paper Beast? The game features unlimited freedom to explore and discover and is built upon layer after layer of complex simulations of everything from terrain physics to realistic animal locomotion. The VR game will also use motion controls to their full extent, allowing players to reach out and touch things in the environment and combining with simulators to have the environment react realistically. There's no core narrative as such, instead, players interact with fascinating wildlife that adapts its behaviour to their actions.

More than anything, Paper Beast is a virtual journey leading quirky animals through a colorful universe that sprouts from the remnants of the internet. The events, the animals and the pacing will all go together to tell a story completely devoid of both text and dialogue just like Another World.

Every living creature takes on the form of a type of paper.

3D immersion has always enthralled me: you can feel the environment around you in its entirety. Sound is 50 percent of space!

We are thrilled to reveal Paper Beast to you. We can't wait to share the world of Paper Beast with you, and we look forward to hearing about your own experience in the virtual world.
