RG III felt he had a shot at Jaguars' starting job

Robert Griffin III believes he had a chance to start for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019 had they not traded for Nick Foles.

Of course, Foles has ended up with the Jaguars and RGIII has made a decision to sign back with the Ravens and he said it makes the most sense, even though he did have other opportunities this offseason.

Griffin appeared on the Ravens' team podcast, The Lounge Podcast, and shared how Jacksonville pursued him and why the team's roster moves affected his approach in free agency this winter.

According to RGIII the team actually tried to trade for him twice, once during the preseason and also right before the trade deadline. Starter Blake Bortles was benched and backup Cody Kessler wasn't much better.

Griffin signed a one-year deal with the Ravens in 2018 after missing the 2017 National Football League season due to a series of injuries.

Griffin, however, is happy to stay put in Baltimore, where he'll guide Jackson following the departure of veteran Joe Flacco to the Broncos. We'll answer our favorites weekly until the draft.

"I ultimately felt like those situations weren't good", Griffin said.

Last season, Jacksonville went 5-11 in part because of bad play at the position. I'm looking for stability ... a great situation.
