Former Italian midfielder, Andrea Pirlo, believes Juventus are "superior" than Barcelona this year and says the comeback against Atlético Madrid could give Max Allegri's side the definitve push towards Champions League glory.

Jose Mourinho expects all four Premier League clubs to be knocked out of the Champions League as he predicts a final between Barcelona and Juventus.

But, Pirlo believes that Max Allegri's men have the flawless mix of qualities required to win the Europe top-flight trophy this campaign.

The former star told Gazzetta dello Sport : "Juventus' target is Europe now".

The former 2006 World Cup victor believes that Juventus' ability to produce such a stunning comeback is down to their change in mentality and self-confidence, highlighting the presence and impact of recent signing Cristiano Ronaldo, for whom Juventus broke the Italian transfer record to sign from Real Madrid. Ronaldo made a decision to change his life at 33.

"Cristiano has settled in very quickly and that is clear for everyone to see".

"In a season, there is always a turnaround, a ideal game that changes the season".

"It was a good draw to get Ajax in the quarters", Pirlo remarked.

"Ajax beat Real Madrid but Real were as unorganised as ever and that's rare".

An exciting and youthful, Eredivisie outfit will present another stern examination of Juve's Champions League credentials, but Pirlo believes Ronaldo and Co will prove too strong.
