Country Singer Justin Carter Dead After Accidental Shooting

Justin Carter has passed away at the age of 35.

According to McClellan, Carter was about to embark on a 10-state tour after recently closing a deal with Triple Threat Management.

Atherton said a gun that was going to be used for the music video shoot was the same one that ultimately killed Carter at his apartment. At this time, few additional details surrounding his death have been disclosed.

Justin Carter was a rising star on the Texas country music scene.

The country crooner had released a slew of new songs in the past year, including his singles, "Wouldn't Know" and "Perfect".

His mother, Cindy McClellan, told Fox News her son was filming a music video in Houston, Texas at the time of his death. Triple Threat Management said they intend to release the rest of his previously recorded music with the proceeds going to his family. He was always there for everybody'.

McClellan said the family has set up a GoFundMe in order to cover funeral costs as well as to bring Carter's body back from Houston to San Antonio, Texas, for burial.

Carter's manager, Mark Atherton of Triple Threat, said the deep-voiced singer had inked a contract with the company just days before the March 16 accident.

He was scheduled to perform at three shows in 2019.

Carter was a "Texas-born and Texas-raised country boy to his core", according to his Facebook artist page bio. 'His passion and drive stem from being influenced by some of the greats since he was just a child. Some of his favorites are Clay Walker, Garth Brooks and George Strait.
