Facebook DOWN: Social network NOT WORKING for hundreds of users

The story said that Facebook has confirmed the outages which prevent some users from commenting on posts or updating their statuses.

Facebook is now down with people all around the globe having difficulty accessing the world's largest social network.

An hour later, the company took to Twitter again, stating, "We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack".

What Do the Outages Entail?

Some people are having trouble posting, while others report not being able to log in at all.

Facebook users logging on to social media site reported getting a message stating that the site was doing "required maintenance".

Some users are encountering a message that indicates the site is now down for maintenance. The VR tool Oculus also would not work properly.

The site DownDetector shows that outages are occurring in New York, Toronto, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco, Southern California, Bogata, Quito, London, Shenzhen, Manila, Singapore, Sydney, Perth, and Tokyo.

Why Did the Outages Occur?

There's no word yet from Facebook about what is causing the problems or when things will be back online.
