Billie Eilish might not be hip-hop in the traditional sense, though she does have plenty of friends in the game. This year alone, Eilish has toured with EarthGang, and lined up some shows with former collaborator Denzel Curry.

Still only 17 years old, she actually wrote striking new single "wish you were gay" when she was just 14 years old, a blast of precocious pop that deals with unrequited desire.

The single is a bold move for Eilish, who will likely find herself on the receiving end of some Twitter scorn. "It literally means I wish he was gay so that he didn't like me for an actual reason", she said about the song's title.

"I wrote this song about a guy that really was not interested in me and it made me feel disgusting". Is this project something you're interested in?

Back in July, the "Bury A Friend" performer expressed that she had written the song about a guy that wasn't interested in her, which she said made her feel frightful. Eilish also revealed to fans on a live stream that said guy in fact came out to her a little later: "guess what? he just came out to me like a couple weeks ago".
