Phil Mickelson hits into three bunkers, holes out for par

He hadn't yet played a full hole when the horn sounded, meaning everyone was headed for an early weather delay in the first round of the Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club.

Typical of Mickelson, it was no ordinary par.

Fresh from his impressive three-shot win over Paul Casey at last week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Mickelson found three different bunkers on his opening hole but still managed to avoid dropping a shot. He then hit his second shot into a greenside bunker, and into a plugged lie. He blasted his third shot over the green and into another bunker, and then, in ideal Phil fashion, holed his fourth shot for par.

He walked back to his caddie and said with a wide smile, "How about we go in now?"
