Significant snow possible Monday evening into Tuesday

Environment Canada has issues an extreme cold warning, and snowfall warning for the Region of Waterloo, Guelph, Southern Wellington County and Northern Wellington County.

"We're looking at about 10 to 15 centimetres when all is said and done as we get towards midnight into Tuesday morning", said Rozinskis.

The heavy snow is expected to impact the commute both Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

"Travel may become hazardous due to reduced visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow", the special weather statement said.

Before then, expect freezing temperatures throughout Monday and beware the risk of frostbite, Environment Canada said. The forecast high today for Thunder Bay is minus 21 C with wind chill values ranging from minus 28 to minus 50. According to Rozinskis, the overnight temperatures will reach near -20C on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
