Ohio Taco Bell employee caught on video appearing to mock deaf customer

A mother claims her deaf son was discriminated against at a Taco Bell in OH after an employee refused to take his written order.

In a video posted to social media, a man is seen trying to get a drive-thru workers' attention by holding his phone up to the window.

The employee reiterates that he "can't do it" and threatens to "call 911" if the patron didn't move his vehicle.

When the officers arrived, they told the worker that Brandon was in the right and even offered to get him food. Really?? Pretty sure the ADA would say otherwise.

Brandon's girlfriend - who is also deaf - was in the auto and filmed the video.

The fast-food restaurant has a sign in its drive-thru lane that instructs customers with disabilities or hearing impairments to pull ahead to a window for assistance, KSLA-TV reported.

"He's had to work extra hard, harder than everyone else to prove himself, that's he smart and that he can do everything", Becky Burch, Brandon's mother, told WKEF.

"It was like they were mocking me, making fun of me", Becky Burch translated for her son.

The pair stayed in line for three minutes trying to order food.

The Taco Bell Corp. logo is displayed on the facade of a restaurant in San Francisco, California, U.S., on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

Newsweek has reached out to Taco Bell for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.

In September, a Taco Bell employee in Miami was sacked after an employee refused service to a customer speaking English.

Taco Bell said in a statement to NBC News that the worker, who was not identified, no longer works for the organization and that all other employees at the store would be retrained.

Taco Bell has since released a statement of the incident, saying in part: "The team member no longer works for [Taco Bell]".

When the Taco Bell employee returned and saw him still at the window, he is heard on the video threatening to call the police.
