Cuomo: 'Biden Has The Best Case' To Be President

"Of all the names that are out there, I think Joe Biden has the best case".

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced clemencies for 29 New Yorkers who he says have demonstrated substantial evidence of rehabilitation.

Cuomo is a longtime friend of Biden, who was a prominent endorser of the governor in his primary against actress and activist Cynthia Nixon last fall.

Cuomo has been a constant critic of Trump's immigration policies and has vowed to protect "the rights and freedoms of all New Yorkers, including immigrants".

Cuomo's comments came after he was asked about the prospects of Massachusetts Sen.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of MA took the first step toward formally launching a campaign when she announced Monday the formation of an exploratory committee.

"I think there's going to be a big field".

"The problem for the democrats is going to be this: it's going to be credibility", he said on WAMC radio.

The speech's location is likely to encourage speculation that Cuomo may run for president, though the 61-year-old has said he has ruled out the idea.

Cuomo said the pardons were issued to individuals in good standing and "in recognition of their rehabilitative efforts and to remove the barriers that their criminal records present to their immigration status".
