Major League Soccer champions Atlanta United have already chosen their replacement for Tata Martino: Dutch coach Frank de Boer.

The Dutchman is back in management for the first time since his short-lived spell at Crystal Palace at the start of last season.

From failing at Selhurst Park, no European clubs trusted Frank de Boer with managing their club, revealing an embarrassing step down and a new challenge with Atlanta United.

"The club's sportive ambitions, as set out in a long-term strategy to be the best in class, clearly fits my personal ambitions", De Boer told the club's website. I like that he's had some success, he's had some difficulties, but he's really interested.

Palace had lost all four of their Premier League matches without scoring a single goal.

The Eagles failed to adapt to De Boer's possession-based style of play, resulting in one of the shortest managerial reigns in recent memory and a September sacking.

De Boer began his coaching career in 2008 with the Netherlands, where he was an assistant, before moving on to Ajax in December 2010. In addition to meeting our club's core values, Frank's philosophical views for how to play unequivocally align with ours.

Atlanta, meanwhile, are coming off a highly successful campaign, in which they claimed MLS Cup glory thanks to a 2-0 win over Portland Timbers.
