Miley Cyrus: 'My mother is a big stoner'

"By the way, I am ready to win", host Jimmy Fallon teased Cyrus before his band the Roots had even played one note.

Update: Ahead of her upcoming "SNL" appearance, Miley Cyrus stopped by fellow NBC series "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". Cyrus, however, caught up in points when she correctly named Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" and Dolly Parton's "9 to 5", leaving the tie-breaker down to the fifth song.

Fallon also asked Cyrus if Lennon sounded like his late father during their studio session.

That song was Cyrus' own 2009 hit single, "Party in the U.S.A.", and yet it still took the 26-year-old songstress an embarrassingly long time to recognize the tune as The Roots covered it brilliantly. She gets there eventually, but it takes a while.

The pair give a nod to the original track by featuring Lennon and Ono's son Sean Ono Lennon on the track.

Miley and Mark just dropped the song "Nothing Break Likes a Heart" and this will likely be the second song they do on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

"We wanted to do a Christmas song", she explained, "and I don't think anything [speak louder to] what's going on right now than about you know, 'War Is Over'".

She added: "I think that's what he's inherited more than anything".
