It's basically the gaming world's equivalent of the Golden Globes, if the Golden Globes were occasionally sponsored by Dorito's, or undrinkable new flavors of Mountain Dew.

We're going to have to give this news story a spoiler section, but here are the basics: Ubisoft has released the teaser below for what they describe as "a new Far Cry game".

Are you excited for a post-apocalyptic Far Cry game?

This year's The Game Awards (TGA) event is officially kicking off on December 6, and we already have quite a bit to look forward to. The version of the clip that Ubisoft posted on Twitter shows that the new Far Cry release will be offered on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Will it be a full-blown game, though? It's likely it won't be a follow-up to 2018's "Far Cry 5", seeing as it's only been out in the wild for months, but it could potentially be a spin-off of the core game or set in the same rural area of Montana.

Each year, Geoff Keighley's Game Awards gets bigger and bigger. We'll report more on this new project when it is formally revealed at The Game Awards tomorrow night.

Given the short time span between this tease and Far Cry 5, it's fairly unlikely that this title will be a full-fat Far Cry experience. Were you feeling it, or not so much?
