Niantic teases upcoming PvP mode for Pokemon GO

The developer hasn't confirmed when the highly requested feature will go live, but it did share some more details about how it'll work via Twitter. To that, we simply say it's about time.

Wait a second, that's not a Pokémon, it's a trainer. It was a little bewildering that Pokemon GO launched without them back in 2016, but now, more than two years later, that's finally about to change.

It doesn't look like Niantic has anything else to add regarding trainer battles today, but we'll be sure to update this post if a blog post pops up at some point later today.

Sadly, a release date wasn't among the tweets, but given the influx of new info, I would hazard it's not far away.

Once again, a huge thank you goes out to Niantic for giving us this opportunity!

As you have probably heard by now, Trainer Battles are coming to Pokemon GO!

Beyond that, there is still much we don't know about how PvP matches will operate.

In any case, it's nice to know that they're finally on the way. The idea, that players could use their captured Pokémon to battle other players, has always been appealing, but it's just never come to fruition.
