Toyota has put out a teaser image of the 2020 Corolla sedan which is all set to make its debut at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China on November 16.

The front-end design is expected to be identical to the hatchback, which bodes well for the rest of the body being a far more exciting proposition than the current version.

The lower bumper adds an LED light strip across the new, squared-off outer air intake, while the lower bumper has been adjusted, removing the upward-curving front splitter for a broad honeycomb grille with black trim elements.

The new Corolla five-door has been lauded for its hot hatch styling, to the point where fans are now calling on Toyota's GR racing division to produce a performance version, something that a few Toyota execs have hinted at.

The 2020 Toyota Corolla will bow at the Guangzhou auto show in China on Thursday, and it'll make a simultaneous appearance at a private media event in California. There could be some subtle design changes here and there, but until Toyota officially reveals the all-new sedan, everything is up to speculation at the moment.

The all-new Toyota Corolla Altis sits on the TNGA C platform, and is expected with the company's new TNGA 2.0-litre Dynamic Force Induction engine among others. But for the Philippine-spec Corolla Altis, it's highly likely we'll still get the carried-over 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i producng 122 PS. We can expect the new-gen Corolla sedan to be launched in India during the course of next year.

The saloon version of the vehicle all is making its debut in China on 16th November.
